Strong June performance for the Port of New York and New Jersey

The Port of New York and New Jersey handled 708,977 TEUs in June 2024. This marked the port's fourth consecutive month surpassing 700,000 TEUs, as well as its seventh consecutive month of year-over-year growth. June 2024's total was a 14 percent increase from June 2023 and a 16 percent jump from June 2019.

Over the first six months of 2024, the Port of New York and New Jersey handled 4,210,657 TEUs. This total represented a 13 percent jump over the same period in 2023.

The first half of 2024 also marked a 15 percent increase compared to the first half of 2019. It was the second busiest container port in the nation for loaded cargo over the first half of the year, handling 2,841,623 loaded TEUs.
