The Montreal Port Authority received $3.3 million in federal funding to develop a new information-sharing technology tool aimed at automating logistics processes and enhancing supply chain efficiency.
This initiative, part of a broader effort to optimize operations, will establish a fully connected port community system platform. Stakeholders across the supply chain, including freight forwarders, shipping lines, and railways, will benefit from real-time access to operational data, facilitating improved coordination and cost savings.
The project, costing $6.6 million in total, is expected to launch in 2027, promising significant competitive advantages and bolstering the Port of Montreal's international competitiveness.
This new tool will offer a decisive competitive edge. Not only will it make it possible to improve delivery punctuality and reliability, but also help to reduce operating costs by automating and optimizing port processes.
