Ports of Seattle and Tacoma TEU volumes were up 12.7% in July

Voyage consistency and increased vessel calls continue to support strong container volumes in the Northwest Seaport Alliance's (NWSA) gateway.

Full international imports increased 24.4%, and total international volumes increased 29.5% compared with July 2023. Full international exports declined 1.7%, breaking a ten-month growth streak. July container volumes reached 264,726 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), growing 12.7%.

Year-to-date, volumes are up over last year 11.7% to 1,822,489 TEUs, with full imports increasing 19% and full exports growing 13.4%.

Domestic container volumes are flat YTD 2024 compared to YTD 2023. Alaska volumes increased 1.5%, and Hawaii volumes decreased 7.9%.

Total breakbulk volume decreased 1.7% for 268,035 metric tons YTD and auto volumes were up 7.5% to 200,924 units.
