U.S. airlines carried 91.8 million scheduled service passengers in second month of summer

U.S. airlines carried 91.8 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in July 2024, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS).

BTS reported 78.8 million domestic passengers and 13 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in July, not adjusting for seasonality reaching new all-time highs for the month of July.

When adjusted for seasonality, July systemwide enplanements (81.3M) were down 1.9% from the all-time high of 82.9 million reached in June 2024.

Data are compiled from monthly reports filed with BTS by commercial U.S. air carriers detailing operations, passenger traffic and freight traffic.
