U.S. airlines carried 83.3 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in December 2024, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). When adjusted for seasonality, December enplanements are up 0.2% from November and reached a new all-time high in December 2024.
BTS reported 72.1 million domestic passengers and 11.2 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in December, not adjusting for seasonality.
Systemwide enplanements (83.3M) reached a new all-time, seasonally-adjusted, high based on data through December 2024. Domestic enplanements (72.0M) were down 0.3% from the all-time high of 72.2 million reached in June 2024. International enplanements (11.29M) reached a new all-time, seasonally-adjusted, high based on data through December 2024.
