The Spanish port of Valencia (Valenciaport) handled 492,874 TEUs in July, and 3.26 million between January and July. The July data represents a monthly increase of 6.88% compared to the same month last year, while the cumulative figure for the first seven months reflects an increase of 4.28%.
In year-on-year terms, during the last twelve months, the terminals managed by the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) have handled 5.6 million TEUs, 8.43% more than in the same period last year.
By weight, the Valencia Port's docks handled 47.75 million tons (including fishing and ship supplies) in the first seven months of the year, a 1.06% decrease, partly due to a drop of just over 10% in the handling of solid bulk.
Overall, Valenciaport maintained the trend of recent months in July: growth in full containers for export (+3.53%) and import (+17.52%) and a decline in transshipments (-2.23%).
Regarding Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) traffic, i.e., cargo loaded or unloaded using its own wheels-truck platforms, trucks, vehicles, etc.-8.37 million tons have been handled this way so far this year, with a total of 318,650 ITUs (intermodal transport units), representing an increase of 3.65%.
