Port of Vancouver launches new centralized scheduling system in Eastern Burrard Inlet zone

September 19, 2025

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is pleased to announce the rollout of the centralized scheduling system in the Eastern Burrard Inlet traffic control zone (TCZ-3).

This launch precedes the system's implementation across the remainder of the port authority's jurisdiction - specifically in the Fraser River and at Roberts Bank - scheduled for November 2025. It builds on the successful rollouts in the Second Narrows (TCZ-2) in 2023 and the First Narrows (TCZ-1) in 2024.

Developed as part of the port authority's Active Vessel Traffic Management Program, the centralized scheduling system is designed to enhance the fluidity of vessel movements to and from Port of Vancouver terminals, and to facilitate coordination among supply chain partners.

It has streamlined more than 5,000 vessel transits within the port's inner harbour (Burrard Inlet) since late 2023.
