The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has renewed its Port Environmental Review System (PERS) certification, awarded by the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), the most recognized environmental standard in the European port sector.

Valenciaport was the first European port to receive this certification in 2003 and has renewed it this year for the eighth consecutive time.

This distinction recognizes the port's environmental management and the collaborative work of the entire port community to move towards a more sustainable model.

The president of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Mar Chao Lpez, emphasized that this "validates the path we are taking towards Valenciaport's zero-emissions goal, reconciling the reduction of environmental impact with commercial and technological growth," and that it aligns with the 2035 Strategic Plan, which aims to promote sustainable growth and innovation.

The PERS certification recognizes transparency and continuous improvement in the environmental management of ports, and its compliance is independently assessed by Lloyd's Register, an international organization specializing in maritime engineering and technology. The certificate is valid for two years, after which it is reviewed to ensure that the port maintains the required standards.
